One Big Family: Slavic Heritage Project is a family storytelling celebration of the journey to America. This unique program invites families to collaborate and preserving their family stories for future generations, fostering a sense of community pride.

How it works.
We’re launching the Slavic Heritage Project in 2025 and inviting families to submit their stories for recognition and celebration at the Sugar Creek Slavic Festival - June 6 & 7. Here’s how:
Submit Your Story Online - use the submission form below to share some basics about your family.
Tell Us More - we’ll contact you to learn more about your family’s history and how we can help tell this story.
Get Selected - Slavic Festival will select up to three families to highlight at the 2025 Slavic Festival. Families not selected will be recognized on our website and eligible for recognition at a future Slavic Festival event.
Collaborate to Gather Materials - once accepted, we’ll work with your family to collect historical photos, genealogical information and other storytelling elements.
Celebrate at Slavic Festival - we’ll recognize your family at Slavic Fest 2025, and arrange a family photograph (including traditional folk attire if available).
Online Story - your family’s Slavic heritage story will be captured online at slavicfest.com as part of our One Big Family: Slavic Heritage Project.
